CinemaScream is today sad to hear that Sydney Pollack has died, aged 73.
Whilst his directorial output (including The Swimmer, Tootsie, Jeremiah Johnson and Out of Africa) is enough to make any film maker jealous, his contributions as a producer and an actor in films as diverse as Eyes Wide Shut, Changing Lanes, Michael Clayton, The Fabulous Baker Boys, The Talented Mr Ripley and Breaking and Entering (to name just a few) will ensure that he will be remembered as a Hollywood great and a truly innovative individual.
